Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi & Co., Ashoknagar (Estd. 1957)

The first and major investment project of Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi was in Ashoknagar, Mangalore. He purchased a 10 acre plot on the banks of the river Gurupur where he setup a saw mill in the year 1957 with imported Belgian machinery.

One of the largest firms trading in timber and forest products in South India.  The firm trades in prime species of timber selected from coups and estates that dot the Western Ghats of India, and has under its control a sizeable holding of over 3,500 acres of prime forest lands in this region.

Reminded of the continuum of nature and the role we play in conserving these valuable resources for the future, we support a balanced use of natural resources and are environmentally responsible in our operations.

Once felled, the logs are transported to the parent mill via our large transport fleet.  The use of sophisticated machinery for felling and lifting logs onto the transport trucks increases efficiency and reduces the risks of injury to manpower.

Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi & Co. trades in exotic hardwoods like teak, peel able hardwoods as well as other secondary species of softwoods. The Company also imports various species of timber from Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Ivory Coast, Africa and Myanmar.
