The Yenepoya Group of Companies, established in 1940, by the late Yenepoya Moideen Kunhi, at Ashoknagar, on the banks of the river Gurupur, today is a business conglomerate spanning a plethora of diversified business and service activities.

A progressive organization with over 3,000 employees under its wings, and a machinery perfectly integrated with professionalism as the keystone of a remarkable success story spanning across six decades, the Yenepoya Group has developed into one of South India’s foremost and highly reputed industrial groups.

The humble beginning with timber and trade has spread its roots to cover wood & allied industries; commerce & industry; hospitality & healthcare; Education & Educational Institutions and more. From timber, veneers, wood products, transport, chemicals & resins, minerals & granites, hotels (the Taj Manjuran), hospitals and mineral water to the Yenepoya University - the growth has been eventful and encouraging.

For the Yenepoya Group, it has never been about doing different things but doing things differently. And it shows.

Backed by the business acumen of its Chairman, Yenepoya Mohammed Kunhi and Managing Director, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi - the driving force behind the Yenepoya Group - this dynamic entrepreneurial entity, comprising two brothers, has rapidly built on its extensive experience and solid reputation by pursuing an active policy of aggressive expansion.

Today the group has carved an enviable niche for itself both in the domestic and international scenario with its scope of activities vastly different from when it began. Wood and Plywood, Veneers, Trade, Transport, Hotels and Hospitality, Minerals and Granites, Chemical and Resins, Construction and Real Estate, Health Care, Educational Institutions and more.

With activities spread across the country and the global scenario. Its’ business relations span several developed countries, including Europe, Middle East, U.S., Russia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, Australia and the Ivory Coast.

The Group's record growth has been one of the continuous improvement and evolution - taking measured risks, making timely entries into commercially important and viable areas, investing in enterprises which are multi-dimensional in scope and capable of rapid growth, pursuing a strategy based on value addition and minimizing involvement in areas in which the proportional return on investment is low - thus achieving its objectives of enhanced productivity, whilst providing an open and flexible framework for expansion.

The Yenepoya Saw Mills inaugurated in the year 1959, stands testimony to this growing saga of success. It is the foundation of the entire group, and as we celebrate our Golden Jubilee this year, we look back in retrospect at a highly eventful journey over 50 years.
